That was a fantastic piece. It reminded me of the time when my father taught me to ride his bike.

I have ridden bikes for 31 years now, and as I've said before I don't have a car licence, but for quite a while I lost the passion and was only using the bike to commute to work. This is the reason I joined this forum, the passion and the camaraderie. Meeting up and riding with like-minded folk, in a world that car drivers will never understand.  Thumbs up

I have always nodded or waved especially when the weather is bad.
Because you are up against it, I guess.
If its cats n dogs in it, I wave more as nods are not as easily seen.
In foreign places you are always welcomed on 2 wheels.

In the 70's we used to do a quick double flash of our headlights to all on coming bikes in those days you could choose to switch your lights on - not many did unless it was dark.  up until recent changes there was a PASS light switch like a trigger on the left bar control cluster which made it the logical thing to do,    Sccoters were the enemy then...  not so now though.
Ahh, those were the days, Always wave although there are a lot of bikers out there who don't. I feel it all started to change in the late 80s when the power ranger yuppie bikers arrived on the scene.

I kinda agree with you Yorvik.
But I suspect it has to do more with, when motorcycles became leisure vehicles rather than everyday means of transport. Which was 80's or 90's as you say.

in the past I've been a selective nodder ,but of late I found myself waving or just raise up an arm ... but what grips my poo is the ones you wave or nod to and all they do is look back at you as if you're some kinda loony

 Frustrated crazy

but inside I know that the next biker that crosses my path I'll nod or wave and I'll get one in return, that makes up for the ones I've missed

shame that there are allways going to be some that miss out on friendship and camaraderie
